Lifetime Olympic Ban on Dopers Overruled

The on Thursday overturned an rule banning former dopers from competing in the Olympic Games. The eligibility rule, deemed “invalid” by the CAS, had prohibited athletes with doping suspensions lasting six months or more from competing in the Olympics. The decision means that defending Olympic 400-meter champion Lashawn Merritt is cleared to compete at the London games next summer should he qualify for the U.S. team.
