MIND THE GRASS: 鈥淵ou can run on a treadmill all day, but when you get out on the field, it鈥檚 a whole different level. That鈥檚 why I try and do most of my fitness on the grass, outside.鈥
CRUISE CONTROL: 鈥淚 like the freedom I have during the off-season to do what I want. I know my body. I can ramp it up when I鈥檓 feeling it or take it easy when I need to.鈥
KNOW THY SELF: 鈥淜now your weaknesses. I can keep my motor going for 90 minutes or more, but I鈥檓 not a good sprinter. To work on my speed, I run a hill by my house. It鈥檚 not huge, but doing repeats on it gets the job done.鈥
SHARP SHOOTER: 鈥淔our days a week, I rope a few of the goalies into staying after practice so I can work on shooting. For me that鈥檚 just as important as fitness.鈥
ALPHA EATS OMEGA: 鈥淭he U.S. Men鈥檚 National Team had a nutritionist talk to us about our diet. He recommended fish oil for omega-3鈥檚, which is supposed to help with brain function and eyesight. I鈥檝e taken it ever since.鈥
AVOVADO ADVOCACY: 鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 survive a week without avocado. It鈥檚 my go-to. It鈥檚 a little bit on the fatty side, but I love the taste.鈥
POSITIVE VISION: 鈥淧ositive thinking works. The night before a game, I visualize myself playing well. I鈥檝e been doing it since high school. I like to see the ball hit the back of the net.鈥
