罢别濒濒耻谤颈诲别听惭辞耻苍迟补颈苍蹿颈濒尘听颈蝉 one of our favorite film festivals听because it offers such a great overall experience. Are you a film buff? Of course you鈥檒l like it. Do you want to have meaningful conversations about conservation and the refugee crisis? This is your place. Do you just wear a lot of puffy jackets? Get in your Toyota Tacoma and see what you鈥檙e missing.

Whether or not you can make it out this weekend to the , you can watch some great featured films, many of which will premiere there. We鈥檙e anticipating these most.

鈥楾he Last Honey Hunter鈥

In Nepal, Mauli Dhan Rai climbs rope ladders up cliffs to collect poisonous honey from the world鈥檚 largest honeybee.听Who doesn鈥檛 want to watch that? Plus, it鈥檚 directed by Ben Knight, who听you probably know from听Denali, , and a great many .听

鈥楧irtbag: The Legend of Fred Beckey鈥

Video loading...

If you know climbing, you know Fred Beckey, the now nonagenarian legend who鈥檚 both a controversial figure and veritable encyclopedia听of听the sport. Director Dave O鈥橪eske spent ten years making the film鈥攚atching the trailer, you may gather that it has something to do with Beck鈥檚 independent and听ornery nature. (Expect many variations of, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 care.鈥)听

鈥楲unag Ri鈥

鈥淔ewer people have been up听Lunag Ri than have been on the moon,鈥 says Conrad Anker in the most romantic description of a first ascent we鈥檝e heard in a while. In听, the 54-year-old mountaineer and 26-year-old Austrian sport climber David Lama attempt the 22,661-foot peak together. You may remember the emergency听that befell their trip, but you鈥檒l also see Lama鈥檚 return to his fatherland (his Nepalese father trained as a trekking guide here) and Anker鈥檚 signature mentorship storyline, which never really gets old.听

鈥楩reedom of the Wheels: For Matt and Will Every 国产吃瓜黑料 Is a No Brainer鈥

Pro climbers Matt Segal and Will Stanhope have created another labor-intensive buddy comedy to follow听Boys in the Bugs,听which made the rounds in festivals earlier this year. This one鈥檚 brand new and it takes place on a scooter. Specifically, Segal and Stanhope for听200 miles to Aspen, Colorado, as an homage to Dumb and Dumber. Our expert analysis predicts that听the goofiness of听Boys in the Bugs will听pale in comparison to this.听

鈥楢濒产补迟谤辞蝉蝉鈥

You might know Midway Island as the remote piece of land in the North Pacific Ocean that鈥檚 become an . And you might know Chris Jordan as the creator of a showing dead seabirds on the island, their stomachs cut open to reveal听a tangle of plastic items. Together, they make for a . Jordan spent several years traveling to the island to film the tens of thousands of albatross that have died on the island.听

鈥楽afety Third鈥

Director Cedar Wright spends a lot of time with Alex Honnold, as many will remember from his series.听In he spends some time with another astonishingly talented free soloist, Brad Gobright鈥攚ho has, in fact, been compared to Honnold. The 30-minute edit draws attention to an underrecognized听climbing star (with accompanying dirtbag lifestyle quirks, like a diet of sprinkled听donuts and听scraps from work) and should be crammed with as much humor as听any of听Cedar Wright鈥檚 film.听

鈥楢 Field Guide to Losing Your Friends鈥

has a devastating start: Tyler Dunning听loses听his best friend to terror-related bombings in Uganda in 2010. But things take a hopeful turn when Dunning sets out to visit all 59 U.S. national parks, hoping to find a way to cope. The mission isn鈥檛 entirely original, but the parks really do provide touching backdrops for a tough narrative on dealing with grief.听

鈥楥hocolate Spokes鈥

Gregory Crichlow听is a striking character, not only for the fact that he鈥檚 always seen wearing a bow tie but also for his commitment to the bikers of Denver, Colorado's Five Points neighborhood鈥攁 historically black and Hispanic neighborhood in the midst of gentrification. is a look at Crichlow鈥檚 bike shop of the same name. It is both character study and meditation on the role one custom bike store can play in a community.听The director, multihyphenate听Brendan Leonard, continues his record of bringing endearing amounts of enthusiasm to any subject he tackles.

鈥楴o Man鈥檚 Land鈥

takes on the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation just a year after the fact, which could听explain why director David Byars makes a point of keeping things 鈥渞igorously nonjudgmental.鈥 We鈥檙e eager听to see how the Mountainfilm grant-winner tackles the much-discussed events.听

鈥楬AFE: The Story Behind鈥

The syndrome known as HAFE is an anomaly in the field of emergency medicine鈥攁 high-altitude stomach problem with symptoms that sound so tongue-in-cheek, it鈥檚 surprising that the听Western Journal of Medicine听published a serious study about it in 1981.听Similarly,听is a bit of a wildcard at Telluride鈥攕ix minutes of strange, silly fun. All you need to know of the plot: two medical school grads take a trip into Colorado鈥檚 San Juan Mountains and make a very unexpected discovery that we won't spoil here.
