Intensive rowing camps in Vermont
Question: Hi. I’m looking for a place that offers rowing for a week or two. Any such thing exist?

国产吃瓜黑料 Adviser: The Craftsbury Sculling Center, located in Vermont’s scenic Northeast Kingdom, 30 miles south of the Canadian border, offers a great mix of instruction and leisure.

The center offers weekend and week-long courses from Memorial Day until the end of October. The week-long courses, offered to adults of all levels (individual classes are divided by ability) run from Sunday afternoon until lunch on Friday. The general schedule is to rise early every morning for a 7 a.m. session, at which you’ll row until breakfast at 9, followed by more
instruction until lunch at 1 p.m.

After lunch, you can do some rowing on your own, or choose an alternative activity, like touring Ben & Jerry’s in Waterbury. The cost of the week-long class ranges from $655 to $725 per week. Call 800-729-7751 for more details.

For a broader selection of camps offered throughout the country, get your hands on the American Rower鈥檚 Almanac ($25, plus $3 shipping and handling; e-mail them at rowalmanac@aol.com or send a check to P.O. Box 25534, Washington, D.C. 20007). For a listing of more competitive camps, call the United States Rowing Association (800-314-4769), which offers development
camps open to all collegiate and club athletes.
