I was on top of听British Columbia's Mount Mackenzie听waiting for riders to climb up before dropping in on the infamous Mac Daddy Face.听Temperatures had dropped to 30-below and the low sun on the horizon created a perfect winter light.听I saw this particular snowboarder walking, ghostlike, though deep snow and tried to position myself to shoot him.听
The cold was a major challenge that day; my control wheels and buttons were difficult to operate with big expedition gloves. I ended up taking them off. Surprisingly,听my batteries lasted through the cold, and I was able to shoot for several hours.
