My friend, Babu, showed up in a rugged Nepali 4×4 off-road vehicle. I knew we were going off the beaten path to get to his place about an hour and a half north of Pokhara, Nepal, but I had no idea where. After a couple hours of winding roads, river crossings, and steep terrain, we arrived at his place where paragliding pilots from around the world come to fly.
Wasting no time, we rigged up and began to run off鈥攋umping tandem鈥攆rom this pristine launch in the Himalayas. We flew high, surrounded by mountains with terraced fields and valleys below. We followed the thermals and dodged huge birds before landing on the side of a small field where we were greeted by a smiling local farmer.聽
